Meals To Feed A Crowd

You've invited everyone over for a party, now what do you feed them?! I am a big fan of meals that are fast, easy and delicious. You have enough going on trying to plan the rest of your party. Coming from a large family myself I am used to always making "enough for an army."My number one secret weapon in cooking for a large crowd? SLOW COOKER. CROCK POT. Whatever you call it, that big pot that cooks itself all day. LIFE SAVER.

Some of my favorite meals to cook for a large crowd in my slow cooker are:

Soups - Soup and salad is a great choice for a baby shower. Use two slow cookers, heat up two different kinds of soup (it's good to offer a vegetarian option) and just keep them set to warm for the party! You can make them from scratch or pick up some mixes, Bear Creek makes some great mixes, just add water! You can serve a large bowl of salad and some bread alongside.

Burgers and Hot Dogs - Get out the BBQ and grill it! Use your slow cooker to heat up some baked beans for the side.

BBQ Pork or Chicken Sandwiches - I use chicken, but pork is a popular option as well. Just place the raw meat in your slow cooker and pour in a bottle or two of your favorite bbq sauce, we like Sweet Baby Rays. Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-8. Keep it on warm and offer rolls for people to make sandwiches with the cooked meat, Yum! Kids love this recipe too!

Sandwich Bar - Offer the fixin's for sandwiched and allow guests to build their own. No slow cooker needed, but it's a great meal for a crowd!

Salsa Chicken - I make this all the time at home, it's one of our favorites! Just add chicken and a jar or two of your favorite salsa and cook on high 4-5 hours or low 6-8 hours. When it's cooked add an 8oz. block of cream cheese and turn to warm. One of my favorite things is how many different ways you can serve this. Over rice, in chicken burritos (our favorite!) or mix it into Mac and Cheese. I also like to add sliced bell peppers and onion during the last 30 minutes.

Macaroni and Cheese - Kid friendly all the way! There are many slow cooker mac and cheese recipes out there or you can make it on the stove and use your slow cooker to keep it warm.

What are your  favorite meals to fix for a crowd?
