What is OBSESSEDevents?

OBSESSEDevents is a wedding & party planning business that serves brides, grooms & hosts in the El Dorado & Placer County areas. We consult, organize and facilitate coordinating events including: weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, holiday parties, family reunions and high school reunions. All too often brides, grooms and hosts become overwhelmed when preparing to plan a social occasion. Happiness, joy and anticipation quickly turn into confusion, stress & fear. At OBSESSEDevents we focus on the big picture for our client, help them get organized, focused & pointed in the right direction. Our mission is to create an open & stress free environment for our brides & hosts  to dream big. We at OBSESSEDevents want to take all the guess work out of planning your event; to focus on the unique personality of each client, to mirror that in their service & always have their vision  in mind. Our ultimate goal at OBSESSEDevents is to relieve our clients of the weight of the details so they can focus on enjoying the process and eventually the party.

How did you get started?

This is my first "Official" year in wedding and party planning. I have planned 2 weddings, a high school reunion & even a world record attempt at the California State Fair to raise money for the U.C. Davis Children's Hospital. I have always been in love with planning, creating & logistics. I constantly am looking forward to "what's next". In the beginning I would layout elaborate vacations and dream weddings that wouldn't even happen, just to have something to create and plan! As time went on my friends and family would seek assistance in putting together weddings & social occasions. Finally after much support from the people around me I was encouraged to begin using my passion for planning & my imaginative mind to help others achieve their dream weddings, the perfect marriage proposal or an unforgettable 5th birthday and I haven't been happier!

Where do you get your inspiration?

My biggest inspiration comes from the strong, passionate & creative women that have come into my life. Fearless women who have taken their simple dreams to have something of their own and turned it into a business that provides financial independence, a creative outlet & a sense of pride. These women have become my friends, my mentors & my biggest support network. I know I should be throwing out big names and famous designers but honestly, it's the women I have met through my relationships that inspire me every day.

What tip would you share with someone just starting out?

Something I learned the hard way was DON'T WAIT! If you have a passion or a dream to start your own business do it! No time will ever be the perfect time, the website will never be all the way done, your inventory will never be big enough. Get your basics down, surround yourself with knowledgeable, inspiring people and don't be afraid to ask questions! I wish I would have started 5 years ago! Believe in yourself, have faith and JUMP!

What is your favorite part about what you do?

There are two moments in my process that just define why I do what I do. The first one is the appreciation of the groom. It takes a lot sometimes for the men to get on board with the idea of a wedding planner. So, when they come to me and thank me because they haven't seen their bride this relaxed and happy since the proposal or how I have saved their personal sanity it just melts my heart. The second is the look on the guest of honors face when they join the celebration. Whether it's a bride, groom, birthday boy/girl or mommy to be seeing their faces and how they light up; I know that I am witnessing a moment they will never forget and being a part of that is priceless.

What is your best party tip?

My best party tip is to stay true to yourself and your vision! Don't base your decisions on how many 'likes' you might get from others. Stick to what makes you & the guest(s) of honor happy, that's what matters.

What is your favorite party theme of all time?

My favorite theme of all time would have to be the beautiful rustic themes. I know that rustic chic is such a huge trend right now and being a country girl myself I just can not get enough of the barns, wood crates & burlap!

Tell us a little about YOU!

About me, why is this section the hardest one? Let's see. I am a newlywed! ;) Recently married in October. I have a wonderful son, Ethan who is turning 16 this year. My family and I live in Northern California, in El Dorado County. I am currently working on my Masters Certification in Wedding Planning and spend my spare time playing with my Labs, Rod & Roy, watching my son play Rugby & feverishly organizing and re-organizing my Pinterest boards. LOL

What is your favorite party theme RIGHT NOW?

I am in love with a Star Wars theme party I am working on for a 4 year old. We're going to have a Jedi training camp and a surprise visit from Darth Vader where the kids can use their newly learned Jedi skills to save the day!

BONUS! Anyone who mentions Forever Your Prints when booking their special occasion will receive 35% off a planning package!
