Some Assembly Required; Birthday Banner

Happy Monday and welcome to part nine of the Some Assembly Required series! Today we are going to look at how to assemble your party banner.

You'll start with your printed party banner. You can print this from your home computer or at your local office supply store. Check out how the two options compare in last week's post; Where To Print Party Labels.

You'll then want to cut out each piece of your banner using a paper cutter or pair of scissors. Use a hole punch to put two holes in the top of each banner piece. Take care in making sure you are punching the holes in the TOP two corners. I have (on more than one occasion) ended up punching holes in the sides of a letter or two.....

Decide how you want your banner to look. Do you want each word on it's own row? Do you want one long string of words?

Choose your string. Bakers twine, yarn and ribbon are all good string choices. Pick a color that coordinates with your banner.

When putting your banner on the string I like to make the string go across the back of each piece as opposed to crossing the front. (see above picture on the right)

Hang your banner and admire your handiwork!
